Well, $300 worth of nickels takes a long LONG time to get through but here's my finds. First box yielded my first ever V-Nickel :headbang:

1st Box:
1907 V-Nickel
1943-P War Nickel
4 x 2009-D Jeffersons

1988, 2001 Canadian Nickels
6 x 1940s
13 x 1950s

2nd Box:
5 x 2009-D
1 x 2009-P (My first P mint and I've gotten 50 D mints so far)
1 x 1969-D (Weak D?? See Picture)

1969 20 Rappen Switzerland (Worth about 17 cents US)
1938 Jefferson
2 x 1939 Jeffersons
9 x 1940s
8 x 1950s

3rd Box:
1921 Buffalo Nickel :hello2:
1943-P War Nickel
1 x 2009-D Jefferson

11 x 1940s
9 x 1950s
2006 Canadian Nickel

So what do you guys think about the weak D on the 1969 Jefferson? The one on the left is the weak one and the right one is just a regular 1969-D that I had. Personally, I think the 1969-D variety has normally been struck with a weak die but this one I've found is barely visible. Anyone have any idea if it's collectible or is it just another nickel? Overall, I was pretty happy with the haul, got my first V-Nickel, and good Buffalo date that I didn't have yet, 2 silver nickels, and 11 2009 nickels. For some reason I get a lot of 2009 Nickels in my boxes, the 3 boxes I got today were kinda low compared to what I usually get on them. Thanks all for your help and opinions and HH!

I've seen many different mintmarks where they are smaller or not quite the same.. I don't think it's a rare variety or error. If you want to be sure... you can send it to the people at CONECA for evaluation but they do charge. They're the ones that identify new varieties.

Nice finds! Nickels are slowly becoming my favorite coin to collect. I agree in definitely does take some time to sort through them.

awesome finds!!! congrats! i so far have thrown back multiple nickels of the same date that had the same weak struck MM, no big deal to me, but if you like it, then keep it! its more about personal preference than collectible value...hope this helps! Keep it up and hh! [R.I.P. Rich Hartford]

Good finds! Yes, nickels take a lot of time (edge searching is about useless), but they are worth it. I just got 2 war nickels and a 1939-D out of 1 1/2 boxes, and have previously gotten a V-Nickel (on the end of a roll, no less!) and 3 Buffalos (all 1936), plus a few war nickels, a few rolls of 1940s and early 1950s, and about 7 rolls of 2009s (mostly D). You get something out of every box (well, except one full of brand new nickels - that's the nickel's skunk), and sometimes something quite spectacular.

I've maybe done a dozen boxes, but I find that I also like nickels more as time goes on.
