3 wheaties today-shorten hunt

Before the rain decided to fall I was able to find 3 wheat pennies in a place close by. Seems I can find those with no problem but as a newbie MD for only three months I guess better coin will follow. I just registered with this site and my best find in 3 months is a gold ring with emerald surrounded by 16 diamonds of which 2 were missing.

The ring I had mentioned might be more of a "hat pin" I just call it a ring cuz thats what it looks like it would have been.
I'm guessing that it is around turn of the century give or take a decade however, this is a major guess on my part...
