30 YEARS !!!

Well this year will be my 30th year detecting. The years have simply flown by. Long gone are the day's when some farmers would say what's metal detecting. My first machine an old Whites cost me £20. It's not unusual know to see complete beginners stumbling about with top of the range £1k plus machines. I can still remember the thrill of my first hammered coin, an Elizabeth 1 sixpence 1572 (still got it). Anyway enough looking back. These are this mornings finds. A very nice medieval beehive thimble. The other item is probably a bronze pin, maybe celtic/roman. I've had this type before, seen them described as celtic brooches.

I used to detect with a guy who started in the 70s, you should have seen his collection!!.

Cheers, not all fun though, farmers dogs and bulls can run surprisingly fast .
