I hope this qualifies as "treasure"...My family and I go on vacation every year in August (the job dictates when mostly) we started last year by going to Franklin South Carolina first before heading over to Chattanooga TN to see the family, anyway while in Franklin we go to Cherokee mines to do sluice jem mining, this mine is "unsalted" so what you find came out the surrounding country side. The first day my son found a 5 ct. sapphire and my wife found a 6 ct. sapphire, we also found garnets, salmanite and some nice rotile. The next day is when I found a 35.5 ct. sapphire! I'll lose about 2/3rd of it when it's cut...the lapidary said I will have a nice 10 ct. stone left which will be worth a minimum of $100.00 a carate! I hope to be able to get a couple of small earrings made to match from the pieces left!!!

That's a DAMN nice treasure in my book!!!
I always say that Treasure is where you find it.
I once found a 2 ct diamond in a vacuum cleaner
at the car wash.... long story for another time.
Make sure and post us some photos when you can.

Let me see, $100 X 10 = $1000, yes, I would say a fine treasure!!
Congrats big time on the awesome find! Hope to see a photo.

Smiles!
