Had permission to an older house site today (mid 40s) so figured I might as well try it out. Found a '56 Wheat Penny, some other weird things and this gun. It was giving me a pretty good signal on my AT Garrett Gold - High tone in the 70s, All the pieces were right there together. I'm not sure what type it is or how old it is, haven't done any research yet. Either way pretty neat!

I found one yesterday that was in pieces. I only found one that was held together, and it was practically on top of the ground. I have found 4 I think.
 

Looks like a Roy Rogers Cap Gun - Neat!

I was thinking Fanner 50 cap gun. I had a couple when I was kid. Best cap gun a kid could get8-). That was in the early 70's. Roy Rogers cap gun may fit the time period a bit better.
 

Whatever it is or was I bet your heart was pounding when you pulled it out of the ground!
