I was driving back from work and saw an excavator tearing down a house and flipped around and tracked down the foreman and asked if I could metal detect and he said no problem after they leave for the day.
So I went home and checked google earth and they actually demolished 4 houses all from the 40s according to the tax maps here.

So I went back at 5:45 just as they were leaving and got about 3 hours in.
Lots of trash from the demo but I found a few spots that were somewhat quiet. Started off with some wheats then got a nice high tone and got a 1945 Merc!
Dug a couple more wheats then dug a 52-53 on the AT pro and popped a 1941 nickel. I don't know why but I save them, too young for a War nickel but too old for a buffalo. Then same signal and got a nice 1943 P silver nickel.
Then got a screaming 95 and the dirt was so dusty I just brushed it with my foot and saw a big rim but it wasn't shiny so I thought it was going to be a Kennedy but nope! 1960 Ben Franklin half. Never dug one of those!

Found a nice pocket of wheats after and really wanted a silver quarter for the full set and Bam solid 87 couldn't get it to move so I was like come on silver! Buttttt it turned out to be a Susan B dollar. Still cool!

Ended the day on the strangest find which was the 1952 1/4 South Afrika coin. Was not expecting that haha. The shovel left its mark on the Obverse...

All the wheats were 40s and 50s
Not a bad day!

Those are some great finds and thanks for taking the time to post.

Now, get the "H E double toothpicks" right back out there. I guarantee you didn't get it all.
