4 year hiatus birthday gold

Well I haven't gone out in year but when a buddy said he lives behind a recently abandoned golf course in a very old town I count resist. I found an old horseshoe and a few musketballs but today on my bday I found this. It's a large ring. Any idea what it could be worth before weighing? First gold!
