'42 Washington 25c, '45-s Merc dime, '43-s War nickel, and 12 wheat cents

Hello!

I took off half a day of work today to drive up to Corvallis. My daughter had a softball game up there late afternoon, and I got about three hours of detecting in before the game! Here's what I dug today:

1942 Washington Quarter
1945-S Mercury Dime
1943-S War nickel
1942 Canadian Cent
12 Wheat cents dating from 1917 to 1952
9 clad quarters
18 clad dimes
4 modern nickels
58 memorial cents
2- 1954 License plate tags

I took pic's of the coins before and after I cleaned them up. The '42 quarter and 45-s Merc dime are my silver coin finds #33 & #34 for the year!

Thanks for looking!
Neil

Awesome job bud!!! You know that the war nickels are 35% silver right? And they have just a tad bit less than a silver dime in them, just a tad bit. I count them twards my silver coin totals. :icon_pirat:

There are 0.0723 troy ounces of silver in 1 silver Mercury dime.
There are 0.0563 troy ounces of silver in 1 silver war nickel.

There is just a 0.016 troy ounce difference between the 2 coins.

THANKS MAN!

Yeah, I never had counted war nickels in my silver totals. I figure they are only 35% silver, so they are more something other than silver. But, I do count foreign silver coins (though only if they are more than 50% silver).

Neil,

Great job. The last few weeks, the only silver I've seen is in your posts.

I love the license plate tags. I can picture a dude in late 1954, wearing a wife-beater T-shirt and slicked back hair, sitting on the ground sipping a beer and cussing his teenage son for not putting the tools back in the toolbox, and changing out those tags.
