Jesse...you rock Dude!

Jesse and Jake arrived early yesterday morning, and like a well oiled
team they got the very heavy treadmill carried into our front room.
It was in pieces, but after about 20 min. they had it completely assembled
and ready for use...

It was a balmy 21F. out, so when done they headed off to do some
dredging. Jake's a big, strappin' young fellow, and no doubt he's going
to be a Class A miner in the near future, and the two of them together
make a hellofa gold grabbin' team...:icon_thumleft:

Onya Jesse, and hope you find oodles of AU in the future!

Well, we didn't make it out on New Year's Eve, so I went out to a local spot today... I've dug here several times down stream on the main channel of the river and done quite well, even once with KevinInColorado! Up stream where I was at today is literally 10 feet away from where I found my personal biggest flake ever (not quite a picker, too damn flat!!). Since I found it there last year this part of the island has been really worked hard, and the miners have filled their holes pretty well. We had a few big water surges thru the area and now its all filled in with flood sand and hard to tell if it has been dug or not with out some pretty serious excavation. Anyways, me and the wife and our son jake headed out and started doing some digging under a huge tree's can't cover that had saved the ground below from freezing.

It was a beautiful day, and our spirits were high. 31 degrees and perfectly clear... ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1420155692.472997.jpg

We started by finding somewhere to place the bazooka...had to get really crafty here, not a lot of water to deal with in the side channel of the main river, and the rocks were super icy and no fun to walk on. I carry an emergency tub with items for desperate situations in my jeep, so I figured maybe we could find a crafty way to direct the water! ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1420155887.700788.jpg

We ran about 10 buckets 3 gallons each and came up with less that 10 flakes that were all -50 or smaller. I gave them back to Mother Nature and we headed home.

Hope to go out Sunday to somewhere more remote. This was not the trip to start the year off with, and I think that's why I gave the gold back.

Heavier pans than mine are to all!!:)

JB.

The game has changed folks...paid off the 4" Dahlke on Saturday. Yes, an original Dahlke:). Headed out Saturday to break some ground before the feb 28 dredge season closing up there.

I've gone dredging before, but Saturday will be my first trip as a dredge owner/operator. I'm taking my digging partner (my son) and we are going with another couple guys who will run their 4" also. Wish us luck!! Washington flour gold, here we come!!!

We got it out!! With the air temp at 38 and the water colder than that, it was chilly!! After purchasing a dredge we haven't been able to afford wetsuits and I haven't finished the heater, so we were long arming for the most part. I had a set of 5mm gloves that kept my hands warm, and our wafers for the lower half, but one we got down a couple feet, the body got cold! We did ok, and had an absolute killer time. Learned some good lessons and ran the dredge for a little over 2 hours. Will be back out in 2 weeks of the weather permits!
