$432 in halfs yielded 4 40% today.
And I confirmed I have at least one local competitor. At a Susquehanna branch they didn't have any halfs but offered to order some. Practically insisted is more like it! I told them I was away from home and they called my local branch. The girl there said "no problem. I already order one a week for someone anyway."
When I came in and asked about halfs, the teller was going to sell me the bag from the machine. I was all excited, but the manager said they did that once and it was nothing but a hassle with the customer being a jerk so they don't do it anymore as policy.
Also found out that TD Banknorth's policy is that tellers are not allowed to buy money from the bank. And if a customer is depositing coins or bills that the bank employee knows is worth more than face, they are obligated to tell the customer.
