My bank remembered to order me a box of halves Monday.
On lunch break I went over there and picked it up.

I looked at half the rolls to see if there was any silver peeking out from any of them.
I found 3, and brought them into my office to look through.
One was not silver but looked kinda like it.
The other 2 rolls each had one 1967.

So far, I have a pair of 1967 40% halves.

I will look through the rest tonight.

At least I am not getting skunked on this box.

Cool finds. At least your bank remembered. I asked my bank last saturday to order me a box, they said it would come in today. They forgot to order it. So they will order me one tommarow and it wont get here untill next monday or tuesday! oh well...

My bank (Chase branch) knows I come in quite often, so they have a good supply on hand. When I pick up the last of the boxes, then they know I am good for 2 - 3 weeks (I get rid of them by spending them, so it takes me a little longer to get another box or two, but it keeps me in the good graces of the bank as they know they will not get them back) and so they order more and they will get there before I am ready for the next box or two. This method has worked for me for the past couple of years so I will stick with it.

That bodes well for the rest of the box. Hope you find a bunch more!

Got $100 from the casino today and found a 1969-D and a 2004-P. At last, the first half for my volume 3 folder.

The casino that is closest to me has stopped using coins in their slots. They've gone to all ticket or paper money machines and now I can't get coins there anymore. I asked for halves, quarters, dimes and nickles and they just shook there heads and said sorry, no more coins here.. >:( >:( :'( :'(

I did.

I got 13 40% and 2 1964s (my first ones!), all in pretty decent shape.

I will scan them and post the pic later tonight.

There were some oddities in this batch.

I did get a slightly off-center half, where the rim is definitely wider than normal on one side. Not enough to really be worth something as an error, but different enough to be obvious.

I also got a half that is so worn it is unbelievable, and I think it is a 1994.

Those casino halves are beat to hell! Wow!

I also found a few early 70s halves that at first glance looked like 40%ers. Even the edges had no real red unless you looked closely.

And lastly, there were some super shiny halves, but not really worth keeping, as they had circulation marks/scratches. But you would almost think of them as proofs, except they were Denver minted. Living in Tennessee, I have yet to see a single San Francisco mint coin here. All I ever see are Philly & Denver.

I searched all the 1973 D halves I found....no ddo.

I wish the 1971 halves would just go away. I see too many of them.

Overall I would say I had a successful hunt on this box.

Thanks for the commentary.

HH!
:)

Edit: Ok as promised. Here are my latest acquisitions. First one is all the silver (duh!) and the two that have mint marks are from Denver.
The second photo has both a front and back scan of the worn out 1994 half plus my off-center half. The date on the worn out half is almost gone! I can see something only 12 years old being flattened by the mobile coin crusher (trains), or maybe beat up by slot machines or a lengthy stay on the pavement somewhere, but this worn out thing.....I dunno what it's problem was.....
Maybe it was a good luck charm someone carried around in their pocket for years (yesss my Preciousss.....).

The 1971 off-center strike half is slightly obvious...the wide part is on the right. It is actually a bit more off-center looking in real life than it is in this scan.
Thanks for looking. No drooling please, lol.
