Gold ore is not quite the same as "gold" in the title.

Russians are notorious for running insurance schemes which could likely be the case.

.245 oz of gold per ton or 7.62 gold grams per ton of ore is generally considered a real producer. IF that was the case, you'd be looking at about 171.5 ounces of gold or $300,000 +/- on the open market. Pocket change for an insurance company.

$300k less open water shipping, less refining, etc. There are going to be a lot of middle men before it reaches its final product/destination.
