!838 Cu, Worn thin silver i believe is reale , & Maine relics

Slow hunt around a different cellar hole today . After two hours I had three finds . The 1838 LC came first right off the bat the minute I I arrived at the cellar . This was encouraging but an hour later I had only added the thimble to my finds . Then popped a thin silver bigger than a dime smaller than a quarter ! I was sure I had Spanish ! It is definately silver though it is worn smooth on both sides , I am figuring it was a one Reale . A few buckle piecies , one musket ball and a couple of other do dads ! Soak the silver in lemon juice. Sometimes it will give a trace amount of detail when looking under a bright light and enough to ID. But it sure does not look like it's pretty blank.

Nice looking Cent. The silver is not a British size, so look elsewhere, probably Spanish, like you think.

Nice finds. I have a silver just like that, flat as flat can get with NO detail. Oh well, better than it still being in the ground. Way to go.

Nice LC...great condition....the silver is really smooth wow....first one I,ve seen like that.

My one reale is between dime and quarter size..so prolly ur best guess.

I'll bet it's a reale too. Exhilarating yet disappointing at the same time...I know that feeling well after I found one several years ago. The wear on them makes you wonder what the heck people did with the coin when they had it in their possession to get it so wore down--did they just constantly rub the heck out of them?!

I gave it a try IP ! I ended up with a shinier blank silver coin LOL oh well it was worth a try ! MR

Nice LC & silver. Try sprinkling baby powder on it & gently blow it off. If there's any detail left, it might give you a clue. WTG, Q.

Believe it or not Dawg both sides are pictured above ! Blank on both sides with the bend / scratch mark that looks like a date line showing on both sides of the coin MR

1809-27 Capped Bust dimes are 18.8 mm,1828-37 are 18.5 mm so being very worn could be one ......later dimes are 17.9.
