90% Eisenhower's don't exist

Everything I read everywhere says no 90% Eisenhower dollar coins were ever minted.
I knew deep down this coin couldn't be what the dealer said but I had a lot on my mind or something. I bought it... The rim looks like a 90% rim, not one tiny hint of being 40%
clad like it should, like my bags of 40% halves look. I am confident I can get my money back.
It just seems something is different with this coin, perhaps counterfeit, however, it shows good detail over the whole coin. No obvious flaws, but I am no expert, just wondering if anyone has heard of fake Ikes? It is a 1971S
Sorry, I have no scale and haven't learned how to post pics with this new laptop and camera, I miss windows 98, it was so easy to post pics on that old computer.

I don't know if it's just me but the face looks doubled or... Wrong and altered, but i am no expert and my hone shows poor detail.

Noticed that too but it is the photo, the coin doesn't show that. Thanks for the reply!

It seems to be the light source that caused that, will try again with the light source
from a different angle.

No, no 90% Ikes, it looks like a normal 40% to me.

There is no such thing as a 90% Eisenhower, except the 1990 commemorative but in no way could they be confused. Is it possible it's 90%? I suppose....the mint did strike a nail with a dime die after all. The easiest thing to do would be to weigh the coin. If it's 90% silver it will be about 10% over weight. If it is 90% you have a unique coin worth thousands. I would estimate these chances at about 1 in 500 million. Most likely is the copper is just really difficult to see or it's been plated.

Now if this is a coin dealer - then you better check over everything you have ever purchased from him because he is either ripping you off or he is selling you rare coins for a fraction of the price.

Lots of 40% IKE's show no copper on the edge. 1 in 500 million might even be optimistic for a 90%er. Where would a 90% planchet come from? San Francisco hand't seen on of that size since 1935. Denver had some in 1964 but that's still 7 years and a thousand miles. Did you pay 90% or 40% pricing for it?

Thanks for all the replies, I really do appreciate it, this website is the best and it's members are awesome!

I got my money back no problem. I paid $28 for it. There are no local coin shops, I live in the great
American outback, nearest coin shop is 180 miles away.
This guy comes to town once a year for our local gun show. He always has some silver and sometimes
has gold. I usually buy a little silver from him each year along with anything else he has that I can't
live without, tools, trinkets, etc., little stuff. There was another vendor there who had a lot of morgans
and peace dollars along with jewelry. He looked at it the next day and said he would back me up with
his book if the other guy balked, but the other guy gave me my money back with very little discussion.
Then he tried to tell me there were 40% quarters and dimes. That's when I knew he was not very
educated in coins. However, the few silver rounds I have purchased from him in the past all seem
legit.

I have only seen 40% Ikes in the packaging they came in so have never looked at a rim, but I guessed
it might be a normal blue Ike just mislabeled, that is, after I got it home and did some research. I highly
doubt it could be a rare error or whatever, he had 2 of them.

Then I went and bought a 9mm springfield pistol, lol, It is genuine, that I will guarantee you.

Once again, THANKS for the replies, you people are great!

Well there are 40% silver quarters.....1976 they made some as part of the bicentennial silver proof and uncirculated sets. No dimes though.
