Hello,

I have done as much research as I can on this pendant. I think it is a replica of an ancient Avignon Florin coin made from 1362-1370 A.D. All things are identical on the coin except the .999 gold purity mark and the little symbol to the left that looks similar to a rooster. I know replicas have been made. i am just trying to determine who might have made this one. The bezel is marked 39 and 750 for 18K. I have had both xray validated to be 18K and 24K. The coin part is pure 24K.

Welcome to Tnet.

Very nice, despite being a replica. It looks very similar to this one, although it’s not hallmarked and the fineness is not stated in the auction listing:

I would be sure that there were multiple makers producing the same items over the years… some gold and some not, both with hallmarks and without depending on whether the maker intended to pass the items off as authentic.

With the proviso that your pictures are generally out of focus and over-exposed in the hallmark areas the best I could say is this:

As far as I can see, despite being hallmarked, your coin has no maker mark. The hallmark looks to be a French mark (for Paris) in the style used between 1809-1819:

The bail is modern as a later addition and looks to have an Italian maker mark as [* 39 AR] in an elongated polygon. That’s a post-1968 mark, registered in Arezzo by FABOR LAVORAZIONE ORAFA di BESI DINO & BONAUGURI LUCIO S.a.s. of Via Giardino, 12 in Sansepolcro (a town in the province of Arezzo). The maker registered on 03/02/1962 and was active until 31/12/1971.
