Where does Ginseng grow best? In cool damp places? Rocky terrain?
I wonder if it grows out here in Oklahoma(I need to check into that).

Thanks sandcreek, around here it does well on east facing slopes in the woods. Alot of shade and rich loamy soils are important imo. It can be difficult to grow and takes a long time to harvest but imo is worth the effort. I guess I'll start pulling them up in 2015, long way to go, so far they're looking good.

Beautiful country, Sandcreek it grows in the Ouachita mts near me, the North, shady areas.
They have put lots of restrictions on gathering it though.

I figured it was the Appalachian Mountains. Very beautiful country indeed.
