A Big Wicked Knife

You don't set out expecting a big knife to turn up under your search coil. I was wandering a woodsy walking path when I came to a clearing. It looked promising so I decided to have a look around. Being close to the surface this thing sounded off in my headphones like a virgin on prom night. Had to wonder if it was used in a murder and ditched in the woods...? Although crude and not all that sharp along the edges it's heavy & would definitely ruin someone's day in the wrong hands.... Also found a small stainless steel pet bowl buried about 10 feet away. "All Metal" mode serves up some bizarre surprises at times.

Cheap throwing knife. Someone threw it and missed, then couldn't find it. Nice Score!:occasion14:

Doubt the murder theory , but who knows?

It looks a bit like a throwing knife. Multiple holes drilled or punched to balance. And material also removed from the spine.
Try finding it's center of balance. That might be telling...Should be midspan.
Should be soft material too. Vs. steel hardened (and made more brittle) to hold an edge.
It's better, well safer anyways to throw by the handle. Your knife would be held/thrown by the blade though.
Properly balanced , it will make one revolution at four or five paces.

Yours would not be the first throwing knife lost by throwing...

If you found it in Starke Florida, it’s mine. Me and my brother lost 6 one afternoon trying to kill pine trees
