A buff & a wheat - silver woulda been sweet!

Got out for about three hours this afternoon to our old standby grove/camp. The DP River is sure high, and the ground was pretty wet. The Great Silver Drought of '09 continues, but I can't complain too much. At least I got to get out and didn't come home empty-handed!

Got this 1920 buff and a '34 wheat in the same hole - a mini pocket spill. ;D The last old spill I had here, the buff signal was hiding a wheat and a Merc. Today, just like then, the buff was hiding the wheat. No penny signal from the coil, but I found it with the probe when I was digging the nickel signal. Looks like tomorrow will be the end of the rain for a while. Whew!

Mr. Silverdraught,

That's actually not too bad for three hours at that spot. I was talking to Mike and we agreed Sunday will be a great day to get out to the woods. But we're thinking of another place...think Mark's Barber, your Rosey...catch my drift? If the water is too high we can go back to your camp spot. What do you think?

Man, I just need to find something, I am on an any old coin draught, minus wheats.

Joe

Sounds like a good idea, Joe! I left a signal out there I've been meaning to get back and dig. I'll bet Mark will join us - maybe Bob, too. I hope the water recedes by then....

Still a good day, silver seems to get tougher to find every year. HH

That Buff is great! Those are not the easiest to find. . . especially with old dates that are in that condition

I have a feeling you're going to be changing your name again real soon. . . remember all that silver you found the end of last summer? Standing Lib's, Merks, that Barber quarter, and the Buffalo under those big logs? I think you're about due for another day like that :o

Better days with a silver future are coming
