Well got out yesterday with hunthicks for a few hours and managed a couple of early 1800 coins and other odds and ends that are presently soaking.... I wasn't satisfied with the hunt and felt something better was waiting for me so I decided to make another stab at it today... The weather was cooler than yesterday.... tried a new site but it didn't produce, so we drove to the new site that hunthicks has found his first 2nd american button at earlier this spring and he was blessed with his finds in his post... He quickly found a horseshoe so I new someone was going to be lucky...guess we both were...

Here is a group shot with the normal stuff and my first cuff size 2nd american button (Revolutionary War)-picture doesn't do it justice

I found about another 1/2 dozen pieces of them today...they are even sweeter looking with the middle piece in them

Nice digs Patriot! Love that button. :icon_thumleft:

Damn! That is nice! And still worth a detector, just maybe not a top end model anymore.

And you tell me that's all you got! >>>>>> You ain't this cool > 8) yet! :laughing7:

:hello2: :hello2:
great button!!

That one sure did clean up nice! :icon_thumleft: Day two was the better for sure, but you can't win them all. An 1812 era button would have made day one a bit better though!

Awesome finds Patriot! That's a good button right there, and one I don't have. In pretty nice shape too. I'd get some wax on it soon though...looks like the pewter is starting to crack.

Congrats!! Hope the year brings many more for you :headbang:

Amazing finds, I agree maybe keep it moist until you can get wax on it?

Thanks guys...I'll let it sit for a day or 2...got a couple of tins of conservators wax and will apply it soon..

What is that thing a little left of top center - an iron teething ring? Man, babies were tough in the olden days!

Congratulations on a bunch of great finds. :icon_thumleft:

I see the explorer is treating you well, eh?

Take it easy buddy.

You bet it is.... it's an honored Rev War Regt.. But that's something very few know just seeing it. (and rarer than that GW if you want a guideline)
