I have found B.T. Washington, Stone Mountain, and Columbian Expo before but they are not worth much. Finally found one worth some money. The coin looks better in hand.

You found one of the lower mintage old time silver commemoratives.. :hello2:

Mintage of only 59,038

Nice Going.. according to my 1984 Redbook, it's $80.00 in AU-50 condition..

It looks EF-40 so based on today's inflation, I'm guessing $80.00 in EF condition.

Haven't checked Feebay.. you probably found of the best low mintage old commemoratives on this site.

Congrats

According to my 2011 red Book, it is up to $200 in AU-50 condition. Quite the increase. :-)

And mintage dropped to 35,000 without the "2X2" in the feild of obverse. Ha!

Great find! :icon_thumleft:

The actual mintage is uncertain. According to this article, the plain strike should be anywhere between 49030 to 54030.

I am still stunned by your find.. that is simply the best single CRH half dollar piece that one could find.. I also wanted to vote banner. Wow, I don't think anyone can top finding something better in a roll than that other than a gold piece. WOW WOW WOW

That's even better than finding a Seated or Bust Half in my opinion. Such low mintage is unprecedented. I wonder what the story is behind that coin. How did it end up there? Can't believe it's been circulated and people actually used it for change.. what idiots. Your gain. WOW WOW

:notworthy:  :hello2: :icon_thumleft: ;D

Thanks for your cheers! Looks like you cherish old commemorative as I do.
Other members did find more valuable coins than this one. I remember that 1921, 1921-D, 1938-D high grade, and barber key-date have been found.
