Was a nice day, didnt get out to detect until afternoon and it just gets dark way to quick. Found one goodie, its a Missouri pacific railway local badge 24521. I gotta do some research on this, dont know what exactly it is, any info would be great. Looks like stamped brass and its 1-1/2 X 1-1/2 inches. Also posting a little pic of my annual posting for 2008. Its been quite a year. I would really like to see everyone get their annual postings in to see what we all came up with..Good luck to all and hope everyone has a safe holiday season. HH JYD ((UPDATE)) because of the great info Detector De Metales passed on to me I found out that the tag is a Missouri Pacific Railway baggage tag. I see several these type tags selling on ebay, and the site he passed on to me is a great railroadana site, you may want to put this in your favorites for future research. Thanks D. D. M.

Couple of things come to mind with it, is it a union tag (Railway workers?)
It doesn't seem to be an Person ID of sorts, maybe mail bag? Local mail?
Interesting, I know the Missouri Railway had a strike during the 1880's.. Here's a few links to possibly help you out.
