Hey all, hit my favorite colonial field today and scored some unknown items. Any insight would be great! The first object is approx. 2"x1.5", the next item is about 1/2"x1/4". Thanks! I've never seen a key hole frame so large, and on that part extending from the bottom it looks like it was attached to something.

Skeleton key hole would be large.

It was easier to hit in the dark?:) Good point on the part extending.

I'd say it's a part of a bracelet or necklace. The upper right keyhole picture would be part of the clasp. Another piece would slide through the hole and drop into the keyhole slot to latch it.

Could be the lock hole shaped item was one half of a turn lock clasp. Here is a pic of how they are used on a modern purse yours could have been on saddlebags maybe. fossil-monica-leather-turnlock-crossbody-original-225341.jpg

Remember, it's 2" by 1.5", that would be a giant necklace!

Could it be a hinged hasp from a trunk, folding onto a loop that would accept a padlock?

The only thing that doesn't fit to both suggestions is that the hole is a little pear shaped(like it was made for a large key), a hasp opening or turn lock clasp would be even on both ends.

Right you are! I was thinking the top two images were separate parts not front/back. That really would be a honking huge necklace.

The upper part really does look like something would slide through the middle and then latch in the keyhole shaped recess. Something like a tab lock clasp that I've seen on necklaces before. Here's an example.

Chart - All About Clasps - Fire Mountain Gems and Beads

The bottom part looks like something that would be on leather as a decorative piece. Maybe it's some type of horse tack related item.
