Ever since Arty and I hunted our new spot last sunday, It's all we thought about everyday and night. I knew there is so much ground to cover and so much oppurtunity to find something awesome. Well Mom was sick last time and she sure wasn't going to miss this epic adventure. We started out bright and early getting to the field at 7:00AM only to find that the field we wanted to be in was frozen still. We opted for our go to field in the back where the nipple buttons and reale came from. Little did we know that field last week only gave up 1% of what it was hiding because today was legendary. I am not going to tell you what they found, but I will tell you what I found. First things first, I got my buttt whooped today by these two. I may have found the most buttons (40!) but my coin count compared to theirs was meager. We ended up searching different areas of the field with great success. I ended up finding my 3rd liberty cap ever. Very worn and no date visible. Right next to her was my second Reale from this field. A 1779 1/2 reale. I also found a handful of buttons and 3 decorative watch winders, one of which looks like a jewel went in the center. Musket balls were everywhere. Most fired, which leads me to believe they hunted a lot or there was some skirmishing going on. They just beat my morale with a bat with their finds (they will post soon). We ended up leaving for the other field after about 4 hours of detecting. Hit the other homestead with some meager finds and worked are way around the whole field. I ended up finding my first 1 piece silver plated officers Infantry Regiment button? Ive seen them posted before but its my first. I also found a War of 1812 Navy cuff button on the other end of the field. Buttons were just everywhere no matter where we went. Its an insane variety also, I have never seen so many different designs and types before. Military, colonial, floral, and just plane weird looking ones. We wrapped the day up at 6pm. a full 11 hours of walking in muck boots and swinging non stop, not sure how im still awake. Total finds 40 buttons, 2 coins, a presidential token, 3 watch winders, many musket balls. And many more doodads. Im probably forgetting something but im tired. Like I said before wait for their posts,I did the worst out of the 3! It was a beautiful day spent with a great friend and a great mom. Cant wait for our next adventure.

Yeah man , a day of legendary proportions , your button count is beyond typical Jersey . 1812 military buttons sweetened up the group . Lib cap looks like a 1795 and and that field sure has it's share of old watch winders . Can't wait to see what your team has to share from that site .

One fine Early American Relic Hunt SJ J , great pics

I got 36 buttons from a spot last year...... It took me six hunts! You may have been tired but I bet the day went by like a flash! Awsome hunt.
