Great finds. What are the two larger round objects? Are they grape shot balls? I'm just guessing about the unidentified piece but is it perhaps part of a lock off of something? Looks like a key would fit into it nicely.
My MXT Pro has never seena 12 Hour hunt. And I doubt the loose nut swinging it, would last that long without hospitalization. You must be young or come from Hearty stalk, LOL
It's always been my dream to find musket balls, bullets, and other military artifacts from the Revolutionary and Civil War. I was in the Gettysburg area of P.A. once when I was a kid (before I was a treasure hunter) and I was fascinated by the most amazing thing - a building in the town that had a renovation recently and there was a large civil war cannonball discovered embedded in one of the wooden beams. It had been undisturbed in the wall for over 140 years. Just goes to show how recent the war really was. Not too far from this area is an old tree that the locals said was full of Civil War bullets and sure enough this tree has dents visibly on it where the wood has grown around the bullets that are still inside it to this day. Fascinating things like this help bring history alive. Awesome!
Mariposagold I'm not sure about good stock but just plain ignorant is a possibility! All jokes aside it's a passion for me just to get out detecting and find stuff. In my mind I always keep the hope that that next step or next swing could be the one that gets me that awesome find. It's not every trip that you get those extra special finds but it's those trips that ya do, that's what really pushes me the extra mile and makes me give that 110% every trip out! I keep that little hope alive no matter how hot or tired I am. Some of my hunting buddies say I'm a beast to stay out like I do. I only have one other huntin buddy that will keep up with me and outlast me that's my friend diggindeepsouthla.
