A Few Keepers Today

Went hunting with my new buddy today. It was at a site that they had just torn down an old house. Stuff everywhere! But I did manage to sift through and find a few keepers. Sorry, but forgot to take a pic of the site. :P

My favorite find of the day is the marble. And I found three tax tokens there! And then the silver dime, 1962, two wheats and two buttons, the change and the thing in the middle....that I don't know what it is?

Nice finds Nana. It's amazing how many marbles get found in this hobby. I think we actually have marble detectors and we just happen to find metal in some of the holes.

I was talking to Tiger last evening in chat and had asked him what he thought the little thing in the middle was. He said the same as you Badger, but to post it and ask. Thanks.

Sherm--I know. Can you believe I forgot! :P We had got about a mile away, and I remembered then. :P But...not to fret, I did manage a few pics while we were doing recon a bit later on in the day! It's an old cemetery a couple of miles away that we spotted. Also saw a herd of deer, but couldn't get to the camera fast enough to get any pics of them. I promise..it's me!

Gypsy--Since I am the only one here who can appreciate any of this stuff, I do not display any of them. I do however have a photo album that I put some of my favorite small stuff in. And the rest is in several boxes or tins.

Those are nice finds Nana.

I agree the marble is a nice one. Sometimes when you get that nice of one it's hard to even beat it with a coin. So it's nice to just see and find them on hunts.

I'm more into relics. I still love coins to. The suspender buckle type thing is nice. I have some just like it.

Civil....I don't have THAT many! Maybe 25 or 30!

Haupin...welcome. My new huntin buddy...well...I was unloading the car a couple of weeks ago of my 'relic' finds and they were driving by. They stopped and I had to explain how I happened across all the horseshoes and bullets! Come to find out, they md too! 8) So we have been out a few times.

Monty....You should know by now that I am never too tired to find a shotgun shell. I'll see you next week for the first lesson....
