Hello all!

I am very new to metal detecting and have a couple questions about my Fisher F2, and detecting in general.

First, is the coil of my detector waterproof for shallow streams etc?

this is a stupid question, but once your detector picks something up, how do you know exactly where to probe or dig it just seems like a big area and im looking to see how to pinpoint the exact-ish location so I can make a smaller hole.

Is the Fisher F2 a good detector?

Sorry to be such a newbie but im very excited to get started!

1st - I noticed this is your very first post - so, welcome aboard from the great state of Pennsylvania (USA).

2nd - You might consider browsing Sub-Forums: Ohio for information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state.

3rd - Until someone pipes in - you might browse Forum > Metal Detecting Forum > Brands > Fisher Research Labs.
