Hi John first suggestion is to float a thin plastic sheet, fastned only at the head, full width, length, allowiing it to float on the surface of the water. This depresses any gold under the surfce tension of the water where it can be recovered. I more than paid for our table operation up at our mine in Mexico with the extra recovery.

Not my design or sluice but you have a valid idea there.....
The header box area is where I would make my first modifications too.

I have a Angus MacKirk "Recon" drop riffle sluice I'll let go cheap as I'm a full time desert miner now. Used only a few times, $70/shipped to lower 48, PM if interested
