Hunted a 1860 farm home today. I thought the Hop a long token was Big Silver Still pretty cool tho. Found my first ever Largie 12/46-47 at about 7 inches deep. It is an 1852, I believe it is in really fine condition. According to my "not so friendly" local coin shop being in the ground the moisture corroded it. It can not be "Brought back". Since it's only a "2.00" coin go ahead and clean it you can't hurt it anymore the man said. Found 3-1950s wheaties and a clad quarter. Very happy with the LC. Overall let down this site didn't produce more. Thanks for looking.

If you go back to see the coin dealer again, tell him he won't be much after he is in the ground a 150 years.....for sure, will
not be able to "bring him back."
Old coins.....no matter what......do have character, what the other brother THer said......and that one doesn't look that bad.
Good hunt......and good hunting.....

That coin dealer sounds like a fool.

Lots you can do to improve that one & improve it price, plenty of expert advice on cleaning here on Tnet. Don't do it before you have read the best technique or you will crash & burn. Some would say it looks fine as it is, any cleaning will improve sharpness of details but is likely to take off the green hue (which highlights features, & gives it a dug look), which many like. So you need to be happy with whatever state it is your trying to achieve.
