Was detecting around where an old house place today. Ground was moist and easy to dig. Got a silver quarter hit that read 0-28 on the explorer. Showed to be about five inches deep. Got the ole Leashe and cut the plug. Reached in with my hand to clean the dirt out and grabbed a snake.........He was about eight inches long. But his head had been cut off by my digging tool. Not sure what the correct name for the snake was but we always called them ground rattlers. They like flower beds around houses......I did retrieve the quarter...1961

You were lucky, that could have tuned out to be a very expensive quarter! If it had been me, you would have heard me from there! Congrats on the silver!
