My Brother in law Gave me large blade that came from a auction. He was told by a friend that it was not ancient. I could find any deposits on it. SRV confirmed it. He says that it is probably a Gray Ghost. It is just a little over 7 inches long. Nice looking piece. It will look good in a frame. I also found a pretty nice discodial the same day that I received the blade. Not a bad day. Thanks for looking.

Fascinating! (silicosis is a stone carver/sculptural disease, BTW) but so interesting to read about this man's work. thanks for posting this :icon_thumleft: Once again, I say, flintknapping can be sculpture

I held that thing in my hand today and it is an impressive piece of flint, no doubt about that. Also no doubt it's not real and more than likely a Gray Ghost. It has the size and it looks like it was a slab cut piece of flint that was machine punched and flaked. It also looks like Edwards Palteau Flint which was used quite often on the GG points.

Nice find paleojoe. Good job on finding that discodial. Fun gift as well.
