Today was pretty mild today so I decided not to waste a opportunity to get out. We're not going to get many more days like this. So my main plan was to hit the driveway where there used to be a poor farm. I had done it before for a couple of buttons. Nothing at all,so I went across the street where the barn used to be and dug up a key on a chain. Definitely bot newer, maybe 50-60s?? It says gm your key to greatness on it. So after a hour I gave up. I decided to try this spot on my way home. I've got some decent things out of it but not since last year. But since I know the area was around in 1740-50 ,I keep going back. I went towards this big pine that I found a large cent at last year. About a foot from it ,I get this scratchy signal that says 8 inches. As I start to dig down,it becomes solid. A KG!! Awesome! No date but after a soak, maybe I can get one. I cover my hole and swing the CTX to the left and it hits a high mid tone. I'm like,no way right?! It says 10 inches and it was every bit of that. At first I thought it was 2 coins stuck together. After I knocked some dirt off,it looked like a round box. I shook it,hear something rattling around in it. So I had to open it. A 1779 reale and a 1832 capped bust half dime was inside. Unreal! Then it started raining. I think I have to explore this place a little bit more 😎 IMG_20171205_130929427_crop_698x624.jpg IMG_20171205_132107336_crop_279x293.jpg IMG_20171205_132124665_crop_262x262.jpg IMG_20171205_133523310_crop_310x296.jpg IMG_20171205_133541009_crop_397x329.jpg IMG_20171205_134123915_crop_207x183.jpg IMG_20171205_133932426_crop_252x252.jpg

Found yourself your own little treasure chest, did you? Congratulations. I'm guessing you were thrilled when you popped it open and those two beauties fell out. Nicely done.
i looked like one of those YouTube guys8-)

That’s a pretty cool find. I hope you keep it all together for the display - it’ll look awesome!
thats the plan. I have to seal the box quickly. It’s already starting to flake away:o

This is way too cool and unique to not vote BANNER on. It’s not just the finds for me but the whole package. Not to mention I’ve yet to find any Capped silver. To find both of those early coins in that little container is a really awesome recovery. I’d be doing some serious digging there

Congrats on the very cool recovery the Cap. silver really looks crisp.
I've only dug one container containing coinage (4 LCs-4 transit coupons) dug lots of containers over the yrs that rattled-only to find a broken mirror, dried make-up, or dirt. To dig something this old and being silvers inside proves some of little dreams do come true.

It looks like it was put in right away then buried or lost! This is also my first container that ever contained anything good

Thanks for the BANNER vote! It’s my first capped Silver too. Hopefully I don’t get buried by this snowstorm :BangHead:
