The boy and I hit an early 1900's yard today and did pretty good.

Started off finding an old U.S.button minutes after starting.

After finding some clad our next good find and my first,Crotal bell with pea clapper still intact.

Stacy was next to score on a fob,23rd Annual Convention July 23rd 18-21 1939 Lions Club Pittsburg.

It was my turn again finding a 53 quarter.

A little later I found a (Fob?) Kelloggs Corn Flakes.

Stacy took the lead for awhile first finding an old watch.

image_zps51fa661c-1.jpg

Then an old Easter egg filled with .69 cents, all clad.

image_zps3befbfa6.jpg

And other then a handful of wheats,Stacy finds a 1902 IH.The IH was pretty rough looking. Most wheats were 40's and 50's with the four oldest being 1916,1917,and two 1919's.

Stacy also dug a pull tab and had a uranium marble laying in the same hole. And I found a pin I thought for sure was silver that turned out to be junk jewelry.

Stacy's marble still in the hole.

And the pin I thought was silver laying in the hole.

Nice assortment of finds. The watch is really pretty and the Kelloggs fob is really neat.

Big congrats to you & your son - WOW! :occasion16::wav::occasion16:

You got a bit of everything in one hunt & I'm jealous, lol. Looked your finds over yesterday & had to return today to see the cool fobs & pin again! Like your son, I dug a plastic Easter egg with coins inside, very funny to find -- it's my only cache so far, but it's a start. HAVE FUN! Andi

You had one great day detecting. What a great assortment of finds. Finding the Kellogg's piece with the paint intact makes it a nice little gem. Add that to a nice looking broach, crotal bell and the other stuff I would say you had one heck of a nice day detecting.

deershed , While I agree that the fobs are cool , The piece in the last photo that you think is silver is really an exciting piece to my eye ! Are there any hallmarks on it ? It does look like silver and the engraving detail is indicative of a classy and somewhat important piece - it appears to me to be Victorian and 1870's to 1890's (stylistically) I'm assuming it is a brooch ? AWESOME day you had !!
(I just realized you had referred to this as a pin already )

I agree, that "Pin" sure looks like silver! Perhaps it was just not marked, maybe a jeweler could tell you?

I made a solo trip back to the same yard as yesterday and the finds continued.

My very first hit for the day,I dug this out.

image_zps05d738e2.jpg

Like yesterday there was clad and a few wheats between the better finds. The next better find was these.

image_zps4eab40d4.jpg

I FINALLY find my first silver dime and it's two in the same hole,35 merc and a 36 merc.Awesome!

image_zps7033a318.jpg

About 5' away I get another solid hit and after flipping the plug I see this.

image_zpsa09dbbe8.jpg

A 1950 Washington.

Things were slow for awhile finding some clad when I got another good hit.It was a small pendant off a chain.

Here's all my silver for the day and the ring, not sure on the ring.

image_zps6d6391ec-1.jpg

My only other interesting find for the day and I have no clue what it is.The thicker end looks like brass.

image_zps78684577.jpg

image_zps0f31c2a4.jpg

I ended the day with almost $2.00 in clad with 7 wheats,The dates on the wheats I could read were 20's and 30's.
