Went to check out my uncles house in a town near me today and it was great detecting ;D My first goal was to find a cellar hole I had spotted the previous summer, well after wondering around some trails i finnally found it, but i think its a dam and not a cellar hole, cause there is a two-tier cellar hole and then some bigger rock walls on each side of a river, the walls are extremely tall say 7 to 8 feet high. On the way to the cellar hole i saw a buck which was cool. But i didnt start finding stuff until on the path back i started getting lots of beeps, this is where the indian head penny was, along with 2 modern pennies and a NH state quarter, the shur lok thing, and some other assorted stuff...I then went over to the bottle dump thats on his property and found a few fragments of plate and the copper pocket watch thingy, and then i hit the field where there cool little button was and the kraft mustard lid ::)

The first pic is the pocket watch thingy which i havent IDed yet(any help would be great as i have no clue :-\)
The second pic is the 1905 IH, man i thought the summer was gonna go by without me finding another old coin, luckily i was wrong ;)
The third pic is just some melted lead from when they used to reload their own buckshot near the pond
the fourth is two pennies which i have no clue as to how they got out there ??? and also a clock gear and a whatsit...

the 5th one is some assorted fasteners, I know the top left is a gromet, the top right is a backpack ring, but whats the bottom one??
the 6th is some shotgun shells that are fairly old, seems like they follow me around just like the bullets keep following nana :D
the 7th is some .22 caliber shells, one of which is live but there is a hole in it so all the powder drained out...
8th one is the Kraft Mustard Lid which must be old because no one has had mustard in that field for over 50 years :D

Jake,

you had one heck of a day. Nice finds, and so many nice artifacts.

Nothing at all wrong with pulling up an Indian Head.

Must have been a lot of work, good job. Congrats, you deserve it.

have a good un............

Thanks, It was alot of work, but well worth the effort ;D I had to abandon the detector at the dump due to the abundance of old cans and such but i did find a few of the artifacts there using a shovel to sort through the soil looking for relics and bottles, no whole ones though :-\

Jake, that one thing with the hole in it is part of a snap fastener used on tarps or covers for different things. Similar one is used on a canvas canteen cover also. Which detector did you take with you? JIM

Here is some more interesting relics that i cleaned today that came from the site...

First pic is of a flattened lantern part, a piece of cement or something with letters and numbers on it, and 2 whatsits...
Second pic is a milkglassmug fragment, a lightbulb, a whatsit up top, a wash tub handle, a sardine can roller thingy, a square nail, and a metal jar lid...
Last pic is a closeup of the flattened lanternt part which is covered with a greenish substance, most likely fertilizer...
