Hey guys, The area I found this axe has produced everything from French Indian Trade Axes to 1990s Axes. This one I cant seem to date, It feels like an almost brassy copper, and has different heft than iron.. the octagon end is different too. Any of you experts point me in the right direction?

Thank you in advance! HH

I believe I've seen these before; or at least some similar. It may used by roofers, the guys putting shingles on the roofs of houses. It was used to split the old wood type shingles to the right width and then to nail it in place. I don't know about the material yours is made of; but the ones I've seen were just regular steel like used to make hammers. I'm sure someone on here will get a lot closer to telling you what it is before long.
