The last four days I got a chance to hunt a few parks in the Plattsburg, NY area. We wanted to do a little water hunting but the water in Lake Champlain was contaminated due to the heavy rains, high winds, and waves, that they got last week. The Adirondack Preserve, which consists of 6 million acres, is controlled by D.E.C. They are in charge of issuing permits and restrict the meal detecting to only lakeside beaches. It's a real hassle dealing with them so we stayed outside the Preserve and got permission to hunt the local Town Parks. Today was our last day before heading back to NYC tomorrow.
We got a chance to hunt an area that was once a military parade grounds.
I don't know if you E-Trac guys experience this, but today I recovered more Canadian Pennies than I would in a whole year. Sixteen of them. (We are only 60 miles from Montreal.)
They come in loud and read like quarters. I don't know if the Canadians are using a better grade of Copper but they do get the
E-Trac excited.
Well my only regret about this trip is that I didn't find this old Parade Grounds on the first day.
Besides the Canadian pennies, some clad, and minimal trash, I recovered a real pretty 1919 Silver Canadian Dime, and my very first Belt Plate.
