Last week I had my best two days of hunting ever for total silver. I dug 18 silver coins! With some help from a tip I had an area that goes back to the 1870's that is now a construction area. Today I returned not expecting to find much, I thought I had dug most all of the good stuff last week....Wrong! I dug out 4 more silver coins today!
the best was a 1945-D Walking Liberty Half! Two Rosie dimes and a 44 merc would be icing on the cake! Also dug a Indian Head Penny from the 1880's, a sterling silver medal, and about 9 more wheaties! This site now has 22 silver coins dug out in three trips! Total wheat pennies now stand at 57!

My guess is that the fused cents are two copper cents and 1943 steel cent. I've found those before and they just look like a blob of rust. The only way I knew they were steel cents is that they were with other regular wheat cents.

Awesome silver day you had! Congrats!
Ya it usually pays to heed what the little voice says...mine had to practically drag me over to an area that I didn't think would be productive, I was wrong....it was right, as usual.

Great return trip, and congrats on the silvers and listening to the inner guy to go back. Personally I'd be back there as many times as possible as these types of sites are rare as hen's teeth now-a-days. The two fused together pennies is a neat find, leaving them together shows that your machine is sniffing out the keepers from the iron, as others said it's a great conversational piece.

Neat. You dug almost all my number of silver coins combined for this year from this site. I'm due for a walker. My last detecting trip I told my friend this and 30 minutes later he found a 1944 walker. Check and make sure the wheats doesn't have a war penny sandwiched with them resulting in the rust. Congrats!
