My best single wheat day was 38 Wheat Pennies, but that was an all day hunt.
You had to have hit quite a few coin spills to get that many coins in 2 hours. Congratulations on an incredible hunt.

What an incredible hunt!! Since I plan to move to NC when I retire in about 5 years, and since I typically hunt 4 hours at the minimum, does that mean I can expect 20 silvers and 82 wheats a hunt, plus a few nickels and so on?? Seriously, Congrats on all that silver!

I checked my wings which I earned in 1982 they look exactly like yours. Then I but found this article on the web: Jump wings - Paratrooper.be

The basic design has not changes since the conception and you can still purchase the sterling set commercially.

From the corrosion on the back where the pin/clasp pins mounts went, I suspect they had the single pin version. Which may place them 1940's to 1950 for the official issued wings. But commercial versions were still available with the pin until the Vietnam error. After '50, the official wings were manufactured with the pin clasps.
Still a nice find

Wow that is a bunch os silver! I’m curious also on what type of site you were hunting. :occasion14:

its a1940s house near a civil war fort, i always find 3 ringers around here, i think i found the old driveway on the side of the house cause it was all there in that one spot, in one hole there were 12 wheats stacked
