100,000 pygmies to 6 acres is 1 pygmy every square 2.6 feet.

I'm still amazed by some comments of some of the people on this site. YES , there were Pygmies in E Tennessee. There also were giants in E TN and N GA.
There was also a race with dark skin, and black hair, unknown race and origin. The Melungeons are about as mystic of a race as "the Little People" the Cherokee talk about.
That high school "certificate", (not diploma) is sure paying off.
A friend who has since passed, is one of the "sleepy eyed" Melungeons, his sister also, and she has since passed. Their race was shunned by the local whites.

Worth reading up on how this myth arose, and how it became an enduring myth, despite all the contradictory scientific evidence to thoroughly debunk it:

Moundbuilder giants have been similarly debunked. Mainstream science does not support these myths, and neither does the evidence. Wherever the contradictory evidence exists it's simply rejected by 'believers' on the basis there's some kind of conspiracy in the scientific community to 'deny us the truth'. Equally hilarious in my opinion.

of course all leads need more research.

I'd be curious if the Land in Question is Protected, Privately owned , or Public.
It could answer allot of Questions if Digging is or Isn't allowed.
and if it isn't who says ?
