A Quarter's Day for the Most Part

Did more door knocking today vs. swinging but, did get a little swinging in. It was a solo hunt, my chance to maybe build my lead with the boy on silvers. Lol
I managed to snag my second SLQ for the year along with 6 more wheats, all 40's. Five of the wheats came out of the same hole the silver came out of, nice little pocket spill. Found a neat little compact and a Sunoco token too.
The Sunoco token came from the neighbors yard after I was finished for the day. The kid's been bugging the neighbor about MDing for awhile now, got the ok when I pulled in after my hunt. Only condition, could only dig shallow hits?
Well, leave it to the kid. He gets a good high tone and it's shallow, only a couple inches down. With out digging a plug he pulls out a 44 Washington? I can't win...Lol The kid also got 4 wheats.

Really good stuff there ! Silver quarters are a tough find these days - I'd sure like to find an SLQ.

Yeah, they are tough and even tougher to keep! Wonder why the neighbor is allowing only shallow hits? Hmmm...

I like this father/son competition, nothing like sharing a good hobby with your kid, I gotta get my 14 yr old back into it, hes a little "too cool" for that right now, chasing chicks and all lol
Nice silvers by the way!!

I think the shallow holes may only apply in a small section of yard that's fenced in for the two small dogs they have? If the dogs see some digging took place they like to dig themselves. I think there's more to it, they really keep the yard looking good?
We'll find out soon, I think the boy is going next door today.

Door knocking can be hard on the hunting time but far worth it. If you end up having a long "wanted" conversation it's always a good sign of getting free range of the property in the end. I remember being terrified to knock on doors at first but it got way easier as I got my routine down packed. I still get nervous at what type of person and answer I'm going to get though. There are to way many irresistible spots for me not to knock. So far I've never got a no! [emoji2]

Nice silvers and wheats! Congrats! Looks like the kid didn't let you slide by with that silver find! Lol!

Maybe the neighbors buried their retirement money in the dogs yard, or other things.... :laughing7:
