I took a quick hunt along a very old road about 5 minutes from my home this afternoon. I dug about 20 rifle shells, which ring up about the same as a Canadian large cent, as well as a live load. After a few odds and ends I got my coin for the day, a rough 1843 Nova Scotia Half Penny. It has suffered after 160 years or more in the ground but I'll take it over a bucket of modern pennies.
