I've been told the rosette is possibly Confederate, maybe Cavalry but I'm certain it's a rosette and I'm certain it's old. Just don't know what the old English letter means.
The second item looks like a bullseye rosette but it has a peg going through it(may be a repair?). Any help on either item would be appreciated. Both were found in the same spot here in KY.

Thanks,
Neal

Rosette sounds right. I am not sure if it is a "C' or a "T". What do you think? Lead filled ,,is it button size?

Yes, Tn, it is lead filled and about the diameter of a half dollar. Both items are the same diameter. All of the charts I've seen of the old English letters have the difference between the C and the T being the position of the top line. But I'm no expert.

The second item looks like a Federal (civil war) Artillery rosette. Nice finds.
