A silver 25 cent Submarine token WW 2 ?

This morning i went to a local beach for a short hunt on a old volley ball court just above the sand in a grassy patch that is not used anymore just a few tall wood post are still there as i expected the normal clad change and a bus token a string pick some sinkers and a key plus the normal junk plus i cleaned a vodka bottle off the beach nice blue :laughing7: ,the best hit of my 1 hour hunt was a silver coin token of a submarine it was made on a quarter it came up a half dollar on my screen +90 ,it says United States Submarine Force Silent Service i think its WW2 ? i looked on Google but no luck who ever made it did a great job .HH :thumbsup: Dd60

Thats cool DD. I've always seen the flattened penny tokens but I've never seen one made from a quarter before. Cool :icon_thumleft: :wink:

Same here that is a first i can not find anything on Goggle about it , must be a one of a kind ? Dd60

I think since there is a eagle on the back of that quarter its from the 30's sometime, since thats when they started putting the eagles on the back of quarters, so I would say you got a WW11 token..that is really neat looking too.

I'd agree on '65 or later, as the general shape of the sub looks like a nuclear sub, and not a diesel boat. Cool find!

Clad or not, how often does one come across a Machine Pressed coin? Pressed pennies are pretty much a common thing and I had never seen a pressed quarter until today, except for the ones my friends and I laid on the trains tracks.
