Made it out for some Mding and not too much to write home about. 6 Wheats, 1968s 40 percent Kennedy half, a cross probably from a chain, 82 clad coins ,and a copper disk. I found 26 clad in one small area about a foot in diameter. The copper disk is the size of a half dollar and grooved like a pulley would be, 1/4 inch thick with a place that looks like a loop broke off. Looks like it hung from something. Any help with it would appreciated. Thanks for looking and may your coil find great things. IMG_0001.JPGIMG_0002.JPGIMG_0003.JPGIMG_0004.JPGIMG_0005.JPGIMG_0006.JPGIMG_0007.JPG

Either brass or low Karat gold. I don't have a test kit with me here at my winter home.

Let me know if you would consider selling it,......

I would clean it up, replace the loop, and wear it.

I would write home about that half! Congrats on a nice hunt.

The good old days, my friend. You're entitled to drool.

The 1968s half is a proof. They were not minted for circulation (only 1968s cents and nickels were minted for circulation).

That is a great haul, congratulations. The half dollar is a stunner. Your brass colored disc may be one of those new-fangled gauged ear discs, maybe? Sub 8-)

That's what someone else told me. I would guess that some kid got into Dads collection and that is how it ended up in circulation.

Wow that half dollar is shiny shiny! Great finds. Congrats!!

It came out of the ground with a grey crust like all silver does out here. The only way to get it off is electrolysis.

OK,......

I found a "wooden" one while out detecting,....LOL

About a 1/4" square material.

I'll post a picture later.

Can't remember the number on the Simplex,..... LOL

Thanks Sub. The copper disk has a place in that groove where a loop might have been. 2 short ends of wire broken off.

Well done, congrats! :icon_thumleft:
