Decided to hunt for an hour in the yard, before I cleaned up the equipment and pack it away for the year. 5 inches of snow has melted , and we had about 1 1/2" of rain in the last 2 days, so the ground is wet.

I've heard on TNET , that it's better if the ground is wet, so I went back to the front sidewalk, which I've hit 3 to 4 more times already. After 2 or 3 mins. along the edge, I pulled this beauty out. To end the season with a Silver is a good thing, Right?

Been here since Sept. and have learned alot. Thanks to the TNET family!!

Can't wait till '16:thumbsup:

Good job .. pack it in already what if we get some warmer days?!!

Great silver note to end the year. Might want to keep it in the corner in case we get an Indian summer sometime instead of snow...Brad

Congrats on pulling that silver. I am in Ohio and hunted up to Jan 3rd of 2015 last winter. Hoping to do the same this year.

Scratch that last time stuff. Just checked forecast, and back in the 50's end of next week!

Back on the Grid!!

You may get your chance. They are saying above average temps until February.

I dont know where you are in Illinois, but I am an hour South of Chicago & have hunted into Feb. in years past. It all depends on weather conditions & your tolerance of those conditions. I worked outside for 30 yrs. so not much slows me down weather wise.

Hour and a half southwest of Chicago. I too worked outside for about 30 yrs. , and I remember near the end of it, I didn't care too much for the cold anymore, lol. I think I jumped the gun. Bring on the above average temps..!!

Nice Rosie. Still looking for my first silver coin. Hoping I can get one soon before the ground freezes too solid. Supposed to get up to 40* today!

Nice save! still more fair days ahead!

the learning never ends.thats what is most fun about md'ing.nice dime too !!!

Nice recovery! Are you sure you want to put away the detector for the winter? HH
