Hi all. Got asked to come hunt a friend's yard since he had the day off and it fell on my day off too. Was brutally hot here even at 8 am when I went. I got very little for my efforts....some clad, 2 wheats and what looks like an old heel protector. Not positive of it's use but it sure has the shape of a shoe heel. Hope someone can give me a positive ID. Thanks for looking!

Ya know, I was just wondering. Since this was attached to something like they used to do in some furniture. Might this have to do with a saddle? :icon_scratch:

Hmmmmm.....I suppose it could be possible? Just another one of those pieces of metal that won't get ID'ed until someone else finds one like it, lol.

It's probably a heel protector for a shoe/boot. But,( and I don't know saddles), could that be something to do with either a cap or the structure of the pommel?
