Low or mid tone on gold and nickels. Could bounce from near iron to coin range. Gold is alloyed too many ways for it to be exact. Throw a nickel on the ground and see where it comes in, my Ace always see them right on as a nickel. The Ace is a nickel killer for sure!!!!!

Hey Mensite, welcome to T-Net.

Gold will come up in the pull tab range.
You mentioned in another thread that you had found a gold ring the other day.
Chunk it on the ground and scan it. Should come up as pull tab. That's why we md'ers dig so many pull tabs. If you don't dig the tabs, you won't find the gold.
At least not until someone develops a smarter machine. :)

Mensite,

I usually hunt with my 250 in the jewelry mode. Have to dig more junk, but I get a lot of nickles and a few jewlery type goodies in the lower range.

Cant you add the nickel/pulltab icon to the coin mode on the ACE250..i also saw a video here somewhere showing how you can do that

if not just keep an eye on your readout..an icon will show up in the nickel/pulltab range but wont ring if you have it discriminated out
