The better quality the gold it should register higher on the meter. I'm not sure exactly, do some tests with different jewelry if you can and you'll see what I mean.

MD is right on where gold would register on a meter. If you aren't getting a sound on pull tabs, you won't on gold either, even 100%. But a lot depends on depth too. For finding nuggets an ACE 250 is a poor choice as it has not adjustable ground balance nor gain control. Larger nuggets are not out of the question and would be found with an ACE.
