Good morning everyone. Been metal detecting for 6 months. Have a whites prism V. I like it and won't give it up but I would like to upgrade to a better unit. I want something relatively light, and easy to use, so as not to confuse my pea brain. Price range about 600.00. I was looking at the whites M-6. Great buy plus extras and a free pinpointer. All your views on any unit are greatly appreciated.

I would reccomend the whites XLT. Its a little higher than your wanting to spend but you might pick up a nice used one on ebay. Also there are several shops that will rent you a machine for a day, its a good way to try out different machines before you make a big investment.

There are a lot of good detectors out there for that price and more excellent ones for a little more money. Look at the Minelab X-Tera 50 and the Tesoro's.
