Advice on Detecting in the Dominican Republic???

Would anyone have any advice on detecting the beaches of the DR?
I'm not asking regarding wrecks or diving, just the normal public beaches etc?

Thanks for any tips or stories of past visits!!

Stay aware of who is around, show no one anything you find that is worth keeping, and make sure there are other people on the beach with you.
