lovely looking spot

* you never know just what you might find , while poking about.

along the creek * area looks like it could be quite interesting (often good stone tool finds and other "interesting things" are found near water sources. ) :icon_thumright: ;D

look at where old foot path trails cross the stream. :headbang:

Hi Ivan! :hello:
Its very nice there. In this area are a lot of vineyards used for nearly 2000 years... This valley has seen celts, romans, swedish, french, prussian and american troops.... So much history! But this time we had no luck. Next time it will be better! And like You said: You'll never know...
Look at this. Found on friday there. 30 pocket watches, hidden under stones. Youngest is from 1918, mostly gold, some silver and one iron. Find of a lifetime.

Thats exactly what we did. Only some tools and knives used in the yards, some newer coins 1848 to 1942, and some casings from the last war...

heck that pocket watch stash alone would have made my day -- no luck :dontknow: :icon_scratch: :help:--thats a great find in my book!!! -- I understand if your looking for old roman stuff that pesky new --1800 and 1900 stuff does "get in the way" -- LOL

mountion "pass" areas were often used in the old times as transport roads for invading armys and counter attackers as well.

plus all kinds of resistance fighters and bandits thru the years are well known to like to "live in the remote hills"

LOL! That stash was found by a buddy.... Outstanding find for sure! I was the one this time with not much luck. :tongue3:
We hit an old trail along the river which was used until a tunnel was built through the hill and some places on a trail over the ridge. Some of this high points where used by the romans to throw coins down as an offering to the gods. When You hit the right one You can find dozends of them.... Not much stone tools there. Celts where the first who settled for longer periods here.
